Servicing & Draught Proofing of over 150 Original Sash Windows, Clevedon Hall, Clevedon, Case Study

In February 2010 the magnificent Clevedon Hall was, for the first time in its 150-year history, opened for private events. Now it will be enjoyed by businesses for conferences and seminars and its upper floors as supported office accommodation. It has also been opened up to private parties for weddings and celebrations, and is considered among the top venues in the south west region.

The Hall is grade II* listed and has over 150 original sash windows. Four of the feature bays of the hall consist of bays of 5 very large sash windows, each  nearly 3m in height, with original hand-curved glass panes.  The Bristol Sash Window Company serviced and draught-proofed these giant bays, along with all other sash windows at the Hall, over 140 in total, all to grade II* listing requirements.

The Bristol Sash Window Company renovated and draught proofed over 140 Sash windows in our magnificent 150 year-old Grade II* Listed Victorian mansion, using high quality materials that were all approved for use on listed buildings. The work included the draught-proofing of two large bays of 3-metre high curved-glass windows which are a key feature of the main aspect of the building. The windows are now draught and rattle free while still retaining the original character and look of our amazing huge sash windows. They were very professional, clean and tidy and provided a cost effective solution together with an excellent level of service. We would highly recommend them. Peter McCarthy.  Clevedon Hall
